Fireplace glass / High temperature glass

Is your fireplace glass broken? Looking for high temperature resistant glass?

We can offer you two types of solutions: tempered glass, which is mainly used for decorative hearths, or transparent vitroceramics such as Robax® and Pyrocéram, which are resistant to higher temperatures.

Tempered glass

Tempered glass is glass that has been treated to improve its strength. To do this, the glass is heated in an oven to a temperature of around 600°C, where the glass reaches its softening point, then it is cooled very quickly. This process gives the glass 2 to 5 times the strength of standard glass, but also means that it cannot be cut or punctured after it is designed.

Tempered glass can withstand temperatures up to 250°C (482°F), so it can be used for decorative fireplaces, but not for a high temperature fireplace.

Pyroceram glass et Robax®

If you are looking for the best solution to replace a hearth, insert or wood stove glass, we recommend Pyrocéram or Robax® glass. It is a transparent glass ceramic, specially designed for high temperature fireplaces. This type of glass can withstand extreme temperatures of up to 800°C (1472°F). In addition, both Pyroceram and Robax® fireplace glasses can withstand thermal shock. This type of glass is therefore very safe and ensures optimal heat distribution and radiation to maximize your comfort.

This glass can be custom cut according to your needs directly at our workshop.
